On your marks….Speed networking comes to Manchester

By pr2go

QUICK thinking and straight talking will be the order of the day when businesses take part in a speed networking event in Manchester this month.

BNWSN09Corkscrew Events are holding a series of speed networking events at The Business Growth Show, which is taking place at the Ramada Manchester Picadilly, on Thursday November 12. The company held a similar event in April.

Once again the Sergeant Major – aka Corkscrew Events MD Mark Linton – will be in charge as delegates rise to the challenge of making 20 introductions in an hour.

Thousands of businesses have attended Corkscrew’s speed networking events over the last two years and the company has received glowing feedback from delegates.

Stuart Robinson, MD of Online Awareness, said: “Speed networking was fantastic, a great way of meeting people really quickly and generating new business.

“In my line of work I don’t have much time to get out and meet lots of small organisations and in one day I could pack in 50 organisations.”

Chris Martin, MD of ICOM, said: “Corkscrew’s speed networking events are really good for meeting new business opportunities. They are very intensive and you need a lot of energy to get through, but they are a great way to make lots of useful contacts. I’ve had new business from it, so it’s worth a shot.”

The speed networking sessions are part of The Business Growth Show – a free event aimed at SMEs which is held in Manchester twice a year.

Approximately 30 companies will be exhibiting at the show, which is run in partnership with Business-Scene, 4Networking and My Networking PA.

Beside the speed networking sessions there will also be two free business seminars; one on Intellectual Property and the other on the Power of Networking.
